The Optimism Collective has announced that it has allocated 850 million OP tokens to the Retro Funding, a public goods fund. The Retro Funding will operate through targeted and categorized rounds, rewarding work in various categories such as protocol and infrastructure development, end-user experience, adoption, governance improvement, and enhancement of the OP Stack. Base, Mode, Zora, Farcaster, sound.xyz, and OP Chain ecosystem projects are eligible for Retro Funding support. Retro Funding Round 4 will reward chain builders who have contributed to Optimism's success and can submit applications in May 2024. Round 5 will reward contributions to the OP Stack and improvements to Optimism's infrastructure fundamentals and can be applied for in August 2024. Round 6 focuses on governance, while Round 7 concentrates on development tools.
