A survey by Kraken, a US cryptocurrency exchange, found that 85% of US cryptocurrency holders currently invest in Memecoin. Despite its extreme volatility, 76% of investors believe that the risks associated with Memecoin are measurable and worth taking risks for its potential returns. 45% believe that its risk and reward are matched, but only applicable to a few types of memes.

The survey shows that the main reasons for investing in memes include drastic price fluctuations, fear of missing out mentality (FOMO), recommendations from family and friends, and the entertainment value of such tokens. Nearly 29% of holders invest in memes for potential short-term returns, 23% view memes as a way to diversify their investment portfolio, and another 23% view them purely as entertainment.

The proportion of women and men investing in cryptocurrency is similar, with 86% of female cryptocurrency holders participating in cryptocurrency investment, compared to 84% of men.

Although investors have shown high interest in memes during this cycle, most still remain cautious. According to the survey, 36% of cryptocurrency holders allocate less than 10% of their investment portfolio to this currency, 25% indicate that cryptocurrency accounts for 10% to 25% of their cryptocurrency investment portfolio, and only 5% of respondents allocate more than 50% of their investment portfolio to cryptocurrency.

44% of respondents predict that the performance of the cryptocurrency market will be better than other currencies in 2025.
